What do you do when your little artist makes the coolest clay sculpture in the whole wide world but you aren't able to save it for eternity? Snap a photo, print it out and use it as a prompt for creating a story.
Children are the best storytellers. Ask them to tell you about their sculptures and drawings...You might just find out where a cheetah lives, how fast he can run and that he dips his mice in milk when he eats them. Just like chocolate chip cookies!
Giving children the opportunity to extend their creative work can add more meaning, allow them the freedom come back to something and look at it in a different way. Try different
modeling materials too: clay, homemade play dough, plasticine. These clay stories could easily be turned into a small book!
