Being a nature girl at Little Loft meant spending a week looking at the natural world and incorporating it's beauty in our artwork. When I asked the girls what they thought being a nature girl meant, here's what they said:
"You really like the nature and sometimes you climb up trees."
"You are not afraid of moths or butterflies."
"Taking care of the planet."
"Playing outside a lot."
"It means you are connected to nature and you are kind to all living things."
Our nature girls were in good company with other women in history who have been observers, conservationists and protectors of the earth's treasures both big and small. Jane Goodall,
Julia Hill, Maria Merian, Rachel Carson and Kate Sessions.
