Who just had their second birthday? Little Loft, that's whoooooo! It's no secret that we love owls at LL. In fact, you can find many owls hidden around the studio. Our mostly nocturnal but sometimes crepuscular friends have inspired great art projects and have also inspired a giveaway through the end of October. Details at the end of the post.
We have a great owl making recipe that we've used during our family workshops:
- One paper lunch sack
- Two round eyes
- One pinch of feathers
- A smidge of shiny paper
- A dab of glue
- Two fancy paper wings (we watercolored on old book pages)
- A handful of triangles-cardboard or paper
We aren't sure why there are so many owl books with 'Little' in the title but if you happen to be looking for one, here are some favorites: Little Hoot by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, Little Owl Lost by Chris Haughton and Little Owl's Night by Divya Srinivasan.
In honor of Little Loft's second birthday we have created an owl scavenger hunt in the studio. Visit the front desk and ask for a special owl finder sheet. Find ten owls hiding somewhere in the space and claim a brand new box of soy crayons. Good luck and thank you for sharing the last two years with us! Giveaway, October 21st - October 31st.
